Pavlomir Wine House

In the sunny Vinodol Valley between the sea and wooded mountains Pavlomir vineyards are located. The Vinodol Valley with the Roman name of “Vallis Vinearia” comprised 614 ha of cultivated vineyards in 1905, but an epidemic of the phylloxera disease had its expected effect. Almost a century later vineyards and olive groves will grow here again.
The revitalization of the Vinodol Valley started in the year 1994 with the arrival of exiles from Vukovar headed by Andrija Biro and Miroslav Palinkaš. Viticulturists and winemakers by profession, they knew what this valley needed. The rich tradition of viticulture and winemaking of the Vinodol Valley was adopted by Miroslav Palinkaš, whose family tradition of grape and wine production comes from Šarengrad in the Srijem winegrowing hills, where today he owns 4 ha of graševina together with his brother and father. Today the winery owns 40 ha of land, 31 ha of which are vineyards. In the heart of the vineyard a new cellar and tasting room have been built, enjoyed by numerous visitors today. In twenty years of work wines have been created that experts in the profession judge equal to the best wines in the world. Palinkaš pays special attention to the domestic autochthonous variety žlahtina that he has returned to Vinodol. Along with žlahtina we also produce wines of other varieties: Chardonnay, Cabernet sauvignon, frankovka, Pinot white, Muscat, some of which are top-quality wines. We are also very proud of our production of sparkling wines “1288” and “San Marino”, which belong to the category of top-quality sparkling wines, with “San Marino” being the only top-quality sparkling wine of the žlahtina variety.
