Andro Tomić is a native of Hvar who has dedicated his life to wine. After twenty years of education and specialization in the field in colleges, institutes and wineries in France and elsewhere, he decided to return to his island and make his own wines. With the belief that Hvar, with its autochthonous varieties, favorable weather conditions and excellent position of vineyards, can regain its long lost winemaking reputation, he continues the 150-year-old family tradition of wine production. In 1993 Andro founded the company Bastijana Ltd., whose primary aims are the production of excellent wines and the promotion of wine culture.
