LIQUER EUFORIA CAROB - SAGE - Tomić
The liqueur is created macerating dried carob pods and dried sage leaves in wine distillate.
Carob is a Mediterranean evergreen tree that bears edible brown pods. Interestingly, carob pods contain seeds which, regardless the size and storage conditions, always have the same weight of exactly 0.18 grams. For this reason, the seeds were used for weighing gold in ancient times, and the name for the unit of weight measuring 0.18 grams of gold persists to this day – carat. For the past 4,000 sage has enjoyed the reputation of a miraculous herb that cures many diseases. Ancient Roman scientist and writer named it Salvia after the Latin verb salvum, meaning 'to save' – in other words: savior.
