CRLJENAK ŠTAFILEO - Vuina

Crljenak Štafileo is the most important wine in Vuina family. It is produced from red grape variety of Crljenak Kaštelanski. This grape variety is known as Primitivo in Italy and Zinfandel in California. In 2001 scientists at Faculty of Agriculture in Zagreb and scientists at University in Davis came to conclusion that Crljenak and Zinfandel have identical genetic profile. Therefore, American Zinfandel and Crljenak Kaštelanski are the same grape variety. It can be stated that grape variety known as Crljenak Kaštelanski won Italy and America and came back home. Neven Vuina and a couple of wine producers recognized the value of Crljenak Kaštelanski, grape variety which slowly takes over wine growing scene in Croatia and abroad. Crljenak Štafileo is wine famous for its strong and rich smell and taste, highlighted extract and rich aromatic sensation.
