Pošip is a varietal wine, made from a single grape variety of the same name, native to Dalmatia. It has a fuller body and strength, but is balanced by freshness and vibrant acidity. Typical varietal aromas of stone fruit (apricot and peach), as well as fresh citrus and Mediterranean herbs are complemented by maturation/ageing of a part of the wine in oak barrels. 30% of the wine spends approx. 6 months in new oak, mostly French barriques (Garbelloto, Seguin Moreau) and one Slavonian (Golub), and is kept on fine lees (sur-lie method), which gives the wine a fuller body and subtle notes of yeast, pastry and brioche.
It should ideally be enjoyed chilled to 10-13 °C. It is recommended to pair it with white meat, fish and shellfish dishes, octopus under the bakin bell, as well as to more spicy dishes such as pesto and hard cheeses.
