Stipe Tomašić Winery from Smokvica on the island of Korčula is a young winery which started with modern winemaking in 2011. The winery’s vineyards are situated at three locations in Smokvica. The family’s involvement in wine business goes back 150 years. The grandfather of this winemaker was known as a wine wholesaler; his family produced wine for their personal needs and they were all in viticulture, to which the century-old vines in the courtyard of the family house attest. The story of Stipe Tomašić’s family is also connected to the history of Smokvica, the island of Korčula, and even some past states in this region. Some documents which you will see will seem unreal.
