Our winery has recently introduced the Gamay wine on the market. The fate of the red variety that put the Beaujolais region on the map resembles the fate of Sean Connery who made James Bond famous, since, unfortunately, the region did not do the same for the grape variety. The ideal terrain to prove, to affirm, to break down the acknowledged expectations in terms of taste, but also a slap to the face to the ‘unequivocal’ gastro-icon are all a guarantee that we have not created a ‘Iurislais’, nor some wine that is hot on the heels of our popular Blauer Portugieser, but a wine that is young, fresh and light and that does not want to (just) imitate the most famous and best-selling French and world young wine. The impatience of wine lovers to try it is becoming unbearable!!!

Technological data: a two-stage vintage. Grapes from the earlier vintage were macerated for a period of 24 hours, decanted and fermented in a stainless steel tank. The second vintage was vinificated by the traditional method for a period of 9 days and then aged in 225 l wooden barrels made of French oak for a period of 9 days.

Colour

Clean, clear, dark and profound red colour with a purple hue, light bodied wine, notable viscosity.

Aroma

Ripe raspberries, freshly squeezed strawberries and ripe sour Marasca cherries with peppercorn notes, mild organic mineral notes intertwined with humus tones and more delicate flower notes of violets.

Flavour

Light, soft and abundant with juicy and sweet fruits and spices, harmonious with the just right amount of acids that complement the freshness and the fruity flavour, nicely tamed naturally pronounced acid; aftertaste of medium longevity, nice and easy for an “all-nighter” of drinking in the company of women.
