The wine is from the selection of grapes of the Plavac Mali variety from the best positions in the vicinity of Žuljana and Ponikve. The vineyards from which the grapes for this wine come are more than 40 years old. Due to the specific position and sloping terrain, all work in the vineyard is done manually. These are typical positions with limestone soil with a lot of stone, a specific white color (so-called "mujara"). Due to the autochthony of the variety and ecological conditions of production, the need for protection is minimal.
Grapes are harvested exclusively in crates of 10-15 kg, at the time of optimal polyphenolic ripening of berries. Grapes ferment in stainless steel vinifiers. Maceration is 7-14 days. After fermentation, the wine matures in stainless steel tanks for 30 months, and after filling it is aged for 6 months in a bottle.
The wine is a dark ruby red color, and is characterized by a wealth of flavors and aromas, and roundness and elegance in the mouth. The tannins are pronounced but pleasant and silky on the palate. The fruitiness is rich, with a pronounced aroma of prunes, a note of overripe cherries and grape raisins.
Wine is best consumed with mature cheeses, red meat and venison.
