Putniković Winery

The Agricultural Cooperative Putnikovic is located in the center of the peninsula of Peljesac in the same name small village surrounded by vineyards of Plavac mali. It was founded in 1911. The interruption of the work was during the Second World War, but since 1946 it has continued to work. The winery was built in 1965. It is one of the oldest cooperatives in this area and its structure based on communion and dedication to work has a constant developmental path. Viticulture and winemaking are activities that have for centuries been the pillars of survival of our families. Today, PZ Putnikovic has over 140 members. Producers, ie cooperative owners, are producers of grapes on their agricultural land, and processing, finishing, filling wine into bottles and placing on the market is done through a co-operative.

In the newly reconstructed stone building of the co-operative, the House of Winemaking Tradition is opened. In an area of ​​300 m2, there is an exhibition-museum part, and a modern, well-equipped tasting room with a store and souvenir shop. In front of the house there is a large terrace for visitors and a parking lot that allows the reception of more buses, vans and personal cars. In the exhibition area there is a rich collection of exhibits that will faithfully illustrate the way traditionally cultivated vineyards, produce and stored wine. Our staff will take you through the history of the Peljesac region and tell the story of the tradition of living in this area which is still woven into our vineyards through the same way of processing wineyards, like before. The modernly equipped tasting room offers tasting and selling ours, in the market, of highly-affirmed wines. In our offer we have the top quality and quality red wine of the Plavac mali variety and top quality and quality white wines of Maraština variety. The tasting room has the capacity to receive 60, and the outdoor terrace 80 visitors.
